Coconut milk La Maison du coco product by Eyupzengin FAQs

Coconut milk and cream

Coconut cream and coconut milk can be a great alternative in creating dishes and sauces, especially if you are lactose intolerant. Both are extracted from fresh, ripe coconut.
Coconut cream is similar to fresh cream. It is more concentrated in fat with a slight coconut taste. It adds creaminess to sauces, is used in the preparation of desserts and to sweeten curries, for example.
Coconut milk is less rich than cream. It is excellent in drinks such as smoothies and can be used in your muesli or to add an exotic note to your coffee. Coconut milk can also be used as a substitute for regular milk in purées, desserts or pancakes.

Our 400ml coconut milk can be stored for several months in a dry and dark place. We recommend using it before the expiry date which is indicated on the packaging. Once opened, coconut milk should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 3 days.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil melts above 23°C and solidifies below 23°C. This change does not affect the quality of the oil, which you can continue to use until its expiry date. Not recommended
to put in the fridge.

Coconut oil is distinguished by its delicate coconut flavour. Thanks to its high lauric acid content, coconut oil is particularly stable in cooking. It can replace the oil or butter usually used in your dressings, savoury dishes or pastries.

The virgin coconut oil produced by La Maison du coco is obtained by cold pressing the flesh of fresh coconuts, which gives it a unique fragrance and allows it to preserve all its nutritional qualities. No chemicals or additives are used in its manufacture.

So what makes it different from coconut oil?
Most of the coconut oil produced in the world comes from Copra. This is a completely different oil to virgin or extra virgin coconut oil because of the way it is produced. Copra oil is first boiled, bleached, then refined and finally deodorised. In this process it loses all its essential nutrients.

Coconut flour La Maison du coco product by Eskymaks FAQs

Coconut flour

Our coconut flour is made from 100% dried and defatted organic coconut meat, which is then finely ground. It contains no additives or added sugar!

It is important to know that coconut flour absorbs a lot of moisture, it does not rise and is not elastic like wheat flour. However, it can be used as a partial substitute for wheat flour in certain recipes and preparations if certain instructions are followed. In a recipe, please do not replace all the wheat flour with coconut flour. Coconut flour should only make up a maximum of 10-15% of the total flour used.

Coconut flour is gluten-free and suitable for all gluten-intolerant people.

Coconut water

No. La Maison du coco’s coconut water is extracted directly from fresh coconuts, harvested in the Philippines. It is filtered and then immediately “flash pasteurised” for 4 seconds, on the spot. The coconut water is finally packaged in a Tetra Pak®.

Our coconut water is pure, without additives and without added sugar. Thanks to its subtle coconut flavour, it can be drunk as a simple thirst-quencher or used as a base for cocktails. After a sport activity, it helps to recharge the body with minerals (electrolytes).

Our coconut water is packaged in a fully recyclable Tetra Pak® to preserve its taste and nutrients, as if you were drinking it from a freshly opened coconut!

The range

La Maison du coco refuses this practice. That is why we only work with small coconut producers who never use monkeys to harvest. We choose quality over quantity and contribute to the development of local and fair employment.

All La Maison du coco products are totally free of animal products or ingredients. They are therefore perfectly adapted to a vegan diet.

The producers we work with produce and package the products in facilities dedicated solely to the production of coconut products.

All La Maison du coco products are produced and packaged in the Philippines, except for our coconut oil which is packaged in France. We work in the framework of fair trade with local producers to participate in the development of the local economy.
